
Barry (Owner):
Starting in the NZ Post Office in 1977, Barry qualified
as a Telegraph and Data technician. After 5 years with the
Post Office, he took a position with Control Data where,
after 9 months, was in sole charge of the South Island operation.
Barry then worked as a telemetry engineer for the local
Catchment Board before moving onto AWA System Group as a
technician, working with data capture system for the local
meat producing companies. AWA moved Barry to Christchurch
in 1988, then to Wellington in 1992 as the Service Manager
for the System Group. After 2 years he moved back to Christchurch,
where, after working for a small Australian company, he
opened RACE Services Limited in October 1996.
Peter (Projects Administrator):
Peter comes from a meat processing background, having many
years experience with meat processing companies and process
control systems. Peters role is to manage our numerous new
data acquisition systems, overseeing their efficient installation
and commissioning.
Andy (Service Engineer):
Andy has many years of technical expertise in the printing
and scales area. Andy's role is servicing our printer and
barcode products and looking after our workshop and stock.
Sam (Development Support / Web Design):
Sam gained a Diploma of Multimedia in 2002 at Natcoll Christchurch,
and has been at RACE since 2003. His positions include Development
Support, Web Design, Marketing Assistant, and provides custom
animations that are introduced into our software products.
Tommy (Software Engineer):
Tommy has graduated from the University of Canterbury after
doing a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Computer Science,
focusing on Software Engineering, Database Management and
Distributed Computing. Tommy is involved in our new software
development and enhancing our current software systems.
Jeannette (Office Manager):
Jeannette has been part of the RACE team since 1996. She
manages our office, is in charge of the accounts and answers
our numerous phone calls. She can take your orders and answer
your accounts questions.
